The brachialis is the deepest muscle of the three muscles within the anterior compartment of the arm. The other muscles are the biceps brachii and the coracobrachialis.

Origin

Anterior surface of the distal half of the humerus

Insertion

Tuberosity and coronoid process of the ulna

Action

Flexion of the forearm at the elbow joint.

Innervation

Musculocutaneous nerve (C5-C6) and radial nerve (C7)

Blood Supply

Brachial artery

Radial recurrent artery
